Balrampur Players to Shine at Divisional Taekwondo Championship in Gorakhpur

The Cliff News | Balrampur | September 28, 2026. A divisional-level Taekwondo competition was successfully organized at the Balrampur Sports Stadium on Monday. Young athletes from four districts, including Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, and Bahraich, enthusiastically participated and showcased their sporting prowess.

The event, conducted under the supervision of District Inspector of Schools Mridula Anand, aimed to provide a platform for young talent. Players have been selected from this divisional competition for the state-level tournament, where they will demonstrate their skills in the State Taekwondo Championship to be held in Gorakhpur from October 3 to 7. This competition will be a significant step for these young athletes as they compete with the best players from across the state.

Selection of Participants and Preparation for State Competition

Several players from various districts were selected for the state games. From Bahraich district, Nazia, Ramasa Mirza, Janvi Jaiswal, Deva Singh, Vivek Chaudhary, Abhiraj, Dilip Verma, and Jay Joshi were selected. Suhani, Abhyas, Prince, Amit Sharma, Akba, Shivani, Shivam, Happy Vishwakarma, Ahmed Ziya Khan, Rohit Singh, and Vishal Mishra were chosen from Shravasti. Host district Balrampur saw selections including Maysha Raini, Pari Mishra, Himanshu, Samyak Raj Kamal, Ratan Shukla, Manish Kumar, and Aman Pandey. Additionally, Navya Singh and Jyoti Chaudhary were selected from Gonda district. All these selected players have been wished luck for the upcoming State Taekwondo Championship in Gorakhpur, scheduled between October 3 and 7.

Support for the Event and Future Hopes

District Sports Secretary Mohammed Suhail expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the successful organization of the competition. He stated that such events serve as a source of inspiration for the young athletes of the division, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talent at the state level.

The judging panel responsible for the technical aspects of the competition included Krishna Pal, Kritika Mishra, Anjali Gupta, and Palak Shukla, who impartially evaluated the players' performances. The presence of hundreds of spectators at the stadium boosted the players' morale, making the competition atmosphere more vibrant. This event not only served as a platform for the athletes but also united the local sports community. Better performances are expected from the selected players in Gorakhpur.
