DM Reviews Tharu Development Project in Balrampur, Focus on Skill Development

Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain, the District Magistrate of Balrampur, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Tharu Development Project located in Bishunpur Vishram, Vikaskhand Pachpedwa. He reviewed the progress of various construction and development works undertaken by the project and instructed officials to complete the tasks with quality within the stipulated deadlines.

Computer Lab and Tailoring Training Center Inspection

The District Magistrate meticulously inspected the ongoing construction of the computer lab and the tailoring and weaving training center within the Tharu Development Project premises. He stated that the computer lab aims to connect students from the Tharu tribe with modern technology and digital education, offering them free computer training and computer diploma facilities.

This initiative is designed to prepare the younger generation for the future. The primary objective is to equip them with essential digital skills for career advancement.

Urgency for Computer Training Center Recognition

The District Magistrate placed particular emphasis on expediting all necessary formalities and procedures for the recognition of the computer training center, without waiting for the construction work to be fully completed. This will allow the training sessions to commence immediately upon the center's readiness, ensuring students benefit from recognized courses and certifications or diplomas.

This proactive step is expected to save time and provide prompt benefits to the students. It streamlines the process of accreditation, facilitating quicker access to educational opportunities.

Establishing a Handloom Unit to Link Women's Skills with Employment

During the inspection of the under-construction tailoring and weaving training center, the District Magistrate stressed the importance of linking the training provided not just to skill development but also to employment and livelihood. He suggested establishing a handloom unit alongside the tailoring and weaving training center within the Tharu Development Project campus.

This unit would enable trained women to manufacture handloom and other useful products on-site. He further directed officials to develop a robust action plan for the effective branding, packaging, and marketing of handloom products created by the trained women. Ensuring a suitable market for these products is also a key focus.

The main goal of this initiative is to economically empower women of the Tharu community by providing them with sustainable employment and income opportunities at the local level, in addition to skill training. This aims to foster self-reliance and economic independence.

Primary Health Center Inspection and Instructions to Increase Institutional Deliveries

In a related development, the District Magistrate also inspected the Primary Health Center (PHC) operating within the Tharu Development Project premises. He thoroughly reviewed the available health facilities, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), and the medical services being provided to patients. He reiterated that providing quality healthcare services conveniently to local residents is a top priority.

The District Magistrate instructed the Primary Health Center to increase the number of institutional deliveries, connect pregnant women with essential health services, and ensure the optimal utilization of available resources. This is to guarantee that accessible and effective healthcare services are available to the people in the region.

Focus on Educational Reforms at the Government Girls Ashram Paddhati School

Subsequently, the District Magistrate inspected the Government Girls Ashram Paddhati School in Bishunpur Vishram. He engaged directly with the students studying at the school and gathered information about their studies, residential arrangements, and other available facilities. The District Magistrate directed the school administration to pay special attention to the holistic personality development of the students, alongside providing quality education.

He emphasized the regular organization of sports, cultural, creative, and other extracurricular activities. He also instructed the school to divide students into houses and conduct house-wise activities and competitions to foster healthy competition and team spirit among them. This will help in their overall development and social integration.

Strengthening of Tharu Development Project with ₹1.28 Crore Investment

It is noteworthy that the Tharu Development Project in Bishunpur Vishram is continuously being strengthened and modernized through the ambitious schemes of the state government and the effective efforts of the district administration. Under the District Magistrate's guidance, a sum of ₹1.28 crore has been sanctioned by the government for the overall development of the project area.

This fund is being utilized to strengthen basic amenities, health services, skill development, education, and institutional arrangements within the project area. Renovation, repair, development of infrastructure, and beautification works are also being expedited within the project complex. The primary objective of the project is to transform it into a robust center for education, health, skill development, and employment.
