Neglect of Government Schemes in Balrampur
In a stark display of negligence in the implementation of government schemes, a community toilet constructed at a significant cost has remained closed for the past nine years in the village of Poore Chheetan, within the Tulsipur block of Balrampur district, Uttar Pradesh.
This prolonged closure has created severe daily challenges for the local villagers. The lack of this essential facility disproportionately affects the village's women, elderly, and children, impacting their public health and sanitation.
Years of Disuse and Failed Repairs
According to locals, the community toilet was built to improve public health and hygiene. However, due to the profound apathy of responsible officials, the building has been lying unused for months and years.
Villagers have lodged numerous complaints with local authorities and brought the issue to the media's attention. In response, relevant departments carried out repairs and painting work. Unfortunately, these efforts proved to be superficial, as the facility was shut down again within days.
Villagers Demand Investigation and Action
Villagers have expressed deep anger over the continued lack of interest from officials in finding a permanent solution, despite ongoing protests and complaints. The expenditure of substantial public funds without providing any benefit raises serious questions about departmental functioning.
Distressed by the situation, the villagers have now demanded an impartial investigation by the district administration. They urge for the immediate and regular operation of the community toilet and the clear định of responsibility for its maintenance and operation.
Residents hope that higher authorities will take cognizance of this matter and provide them with relief from the lack of this fundamental facility.
