CMO Assesses Health Services in Fattejot

The Cliff News | September 29, 2026 Balrampur District. Balrampur's Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Mukesh Kumar Rastogi, on Tuesday, assessed the ground reality of health services in the village of Fattejot, located in the Sadar development block.

During an unscheduled inspection, he directly engaged with villagers to gather feedback on the facilities provided by the health department. A significant concern raised by the residents was the prevalence of eye-related issues and cataracts.

Eye Camp Ordered Amidst Health Review

Taking note of these serious complaints, Dr. Rastogi, who is also an ophthalmologist himself, immediately issued directives for action. He ordered the organization of a special health camp in Fattejot Gram Panchayat on September 30.

The primary objective of this camp will be to conduct eye examinations for the villagers and provide necessary treatment. The responsibility for organizing the eye camp and ensuring treatment arrangements has been assigned to Dr. Javed Akhtar, the in-charge of the Primary Health Center, Balrampur.

He has been instructed to ensure all necessary arrangements for eye examinations at the camp. In cases where villagers are identified with cataracts or other severe eye conditions, they are to be immediately referred to higher health centers for prompt treatment.

Inspection of Waterlogged Areas and Disease Prevention

As part of his inspection, the CMO also closely examined areas in the village experiencing waterlogging. He alerted the residents in these areas about health precautions and distributed essential medicine kits.

CMO Rastogi gave clear instructions to the present health staff to maintain special vigilance in waterlogged areas to prevent the spread of seasonal and waterborne diseases.

"Regular dialogue with local residents is extremely important to make health services more effective and accessible in rural areas. Based on the feedback received, the department will ensure swift and necessary action in the future as well." - Dr. Rastogi

The inspection program was attended by the District Health Education Officer, Arvind Mishra, other departmental staff, and a large number of local villagers. This administrative step is considered a significant effort towards strengthening the rural healthcare infrastructure.

The health department has appealed to the villagers to contact their nearest health center immediately upon noticing any disease symptoms.
