Security Preparations Underway for Rath Yatra
The Damoh district administration is fully active regarding the proposed Sanatan Hindu Ekta Rath Yatra by Bageshwar Dham's Peethadheeshwar Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri. Ahead of the procession, Collector Pratapnarayan Yadav and Superintendent of Police held a crucial meeting with devotees' representatives to extensively review preparations.
The Rath Yatra will travel from Hata to Damoh, for which the administration has given final approval to the necessary arrangements. Discussions during the meeting focused on the blueprint for the Rath Yatra's overnight stay in Hata on October 12 and an 'Ashirvachan' (blessing) session at Radhika Palace in Damoh on October 13.
Focus on Infrastructure and Safety Measures
Considering the devotee's demands, the district administration has issued essential directives to relevant departments for basic facilities such as traffic, parking, drinking water, medical services, and sanitation. Special attention is being given to ensuring a smooth flow for the expected large number of devotees.
To manage the strong possibility of a significant turnout, the police and traffic departments have been instructed to prepare special routes and diversion plans to ensure seamless movement. Stringent security arrangements, including barricading and crowd control, will be in place. The administration aims to prevent any inconvenience to devotees and uphold all safety standards.
Furthermore, emphasis is being placed on adequate parking arrangements to prevent traffic disruption by vehicles. The deployment of additional security forces alongside local police is also under consideration to handle any untoward incidents. The administration is committed to ensuring this significant stop of the Rath Yatra remains peaceful and orderly.
Ensuring Structural Integrity and Essential Services
Special emphasis is placed on the security of the infrastructure. Obtaining a fitness certificate from the Public Works Department is mandatory to ensure the robustness of the stage being constructed at the program venue. Similarly, clear instructions have been issued to obtain safety certificates from the concerned departments for sound and electrical arrangements, ensuring the entire event proceeds without interruption.
The administration's priority is to ensure the Rath Yatra and subsequent programs are conducted peacefully and safely. Arrangements for tankers will be made for uninterrupted drinking water supply, alongside the deployment of mobile toilets. Medical teams and ambulances will be available to provide immediate assistance in case of emergencies.
An instruction has also been issued for the deployment of additional staff to maintain sanitation, keeping the event venue clean. The primary objective of all these preparations is to provide the best possible facilities to the devotees and preserve the spiritual significance of the journey.
