‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Crosses ₹100 Crore in India, Emerges as 2025’s Biggest Hollywood Hit

James Cameron’s latest sci-fi spectacle, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, has crossed the ₹100-crore mark at the Indian box office within five days of release, industry trade data shows.

Strong Opening in India

According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹85.50 crore nett over its first five days, making it the highest-grossing Hollywood release in India in 2025. The gross collection stands at ₹103.3 crore.

The film opened with ₹19 crore nett, with the first weekend contributing ₹48.25 crore nett. Collections saw a moderate dip on weekdays, earning ₹9 crore nett on Monday and ₹9.25 crore nett on Tuesday.

Global Box Office Performance

‘Fire and Ash’ has also made significant waves internationally, becoming the 15th highest-grossing film of all time globally. As per Box Office Mojo, it earned USD 398.6 million worldwide in just five days, surpassing the lifetime earnings of Thunderbolts (USD 382 million).

In North America, the film grossed USD 102.4 million, while overseas markets contributed USD 296.2 million.

Star-Studded Ensemble

The third installment in the billion-dollar Avatar franchise brings back stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña, alongside returning cast members Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, Joel David Moore, Edie Falco, and Dileep Rao.

Set on the fictional planet Pandora, the film continues the story of the Na’vi people and their struggle against human colonisers, expanding the richly imagined universe that Cameron introduced in the 2009 original.

With both domestic and global audiences responding enthusiastically, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is well on its way to cementing its status as a blockbuster of 2025.
