Australian authorities have classified the mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach during a Hanukkah celebration as a terrorist attack inspired by the Islamic State, Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett confirmed on Tuesday. The attack on Sunday left 15 people dead, with ages ranging from 10 to 87, and 25 others injured, including 10 in critical condition and several children.

The suspects, identified as a father (50) and son (24), were central to the investigation. The older man was shot dead by police, while the younger suspect is in hospital receiving treatment.
