The attack caused chaos onboard and left both passengers severely wounded.

Sources indicate that a group of individuals traveling on the train attempted to forcibly collect money from passengers. When two passengers protested this illegal activity, the individuals, reportedly disguised as transgender persons, not only behaved abusely but also attacked them with knives, inflicting serious injuries.

Violent Attack and Passenger Resistance

According to details received, an attempt was made to forcefully solicit donations from passengers on the train. When two passengers resisted this illegal collection, the individuals disguised as transgender people lost their composure. They not only mistreated the passengers but also drew knives and launched a life-threatening attack.

In this brutal assault, both passengers sustained severe injuries. The injured passengers managed to inform their families by phone about their ordeal. As the train reached Harsingpur Goa Halt Station in the Mauhadarwaja police station area, local villagers were alerted to the incident.

Villagers Intervene, Train Halted

A large number of enraged villagers gathered at the scene. Taking swift action, the villagers cornered the alleged impersonators in one of the train's coaches, preventing them from exiting. This unexpected commotion led to the train being held at the station for approximately two hours, causing significant inconvenience and delays for passengers.

Police Action and Ongoing Investigation

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and local police immediately responded and arrived at the scene. The police brought the situation under control and apprehended the four alleged impersonators. An interrogation process has commenced.

During questioning, the passengers informed the police in their statements that these individuals were not actually transgender people but a gang of young men disguised as transgender individuals who operate an illegal extortion racket on trains. They also reported that anyone who opposes them is subjected to assault and attack.

Currently, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter, including recording statements from eyewitnesses. The injured passengers are receiving treatment at a local hospital. An atmosphere of fear and insecurity prevails among train passengers following this incident. The police administration has assured strict action against such elements.
