Attack on Electricity Department Team During Revenue Collection in Narmadapuram; FIR Registered

Assault During Revenue Collection

A case of obstructing a government official and assault occurred on Saturday in the Town Zone-2 of the Narmadapuram circle, Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company. The electricity department team was attacked by a person named Dev Parte near Gupta Nursing Home in Sadar Bazaar.

The team was there to collect a fine of ₹54,000 imposed by the vigilance wing for electricity theft and to remove an illegally connected line from Deepak Mansoria's premises. During the operation, Dev Parte allegedly abused and physically assaulted Junior Engineer Umakant Yadav and other team members, even issuing death threats.

FIR Registered, Search Underway

Following the incident, departmental officials promptly contacted the police. An FIR has been registered against the accused, Dev Parte son of Ramdas Parte, at Kotwali police station under various sections of the Indian Justice Code 2023. Police have initiated an investigation and are searching for the accused.

Management Vows Employee Safety

The Managing Director of Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company, Rishi Garg, condemned the incident as a serious obstruction of government duty. He has instructed all controlling officers to ensure that any mistreatment of field staff will not be tolerated and will be met with strict legal action.

The management believes such acts by anti-social elements during duty hours demoralize employees. The company has directed all field staff to continuously monitor the power supply situation and immediately contact the District Collector and Superintendent of Police for necessary support in case of any untoward incident or potential threat.

The department has assured that robust measures will be implemented to ensure employee safety in the future. Police are currently investigating the accused's role in the incident.
