Apple has officially launched the second-generation AirTag in India, introducing meaningful upgrades aimed at making it easier for users to locate misplaced personal items. The new AirTag comes with an extended Bluetooth range and a louder built-in speaker, enhancing both connectivity and usability.
The AirTag is Apple’s compact tracking device designed to help users keep track of everyday belongings such as keys, backpacks, wallets, and luggage. It works seamlessly with Apple’s Find My app, which uses a vast, encrypted network of Apple devices worldwide to help pinpoint lost items.
What’s new in the second-generation AirTag?
One of the biggest improvements is the significantly extended Bluetooth range. With stronger connectivity, users can now detect their AirTag from a greater distance, increasing the chances of locating items that may be misplaced far from their immediate surroundings.
Apple has also upgraded the AirTag’s speaker. The new model produces louder and clearer sound alerts, making it easier to locate items hidden under furniture, inside bags, or in noisy environments like public transport hubs and busy streets.
Designed for everyday convenience
Like its predecessor, the new AirTag integrates deeply with the Apple ecosystem. Users can track items in real time through the Find My app, receive location updates, and trigger sound alerts when nearby. Precision Finding features on compatible iPhones further assist users with on-screen directions and distance indicators.
Apple says the improvements were driven by user feedback, focusing on making item recovery faster and less frustrating in real-world situations.
Pricing and availability in India
The second-generation AirTag is priced at approximately ₹3,190 in India. It is available through Apple’s official online store, authorised retail outlets, and select resellers across the country.
Staying competitive in a growing market
With smart tracking devices becoming increasingly popular, Apple’s updated AirTag reinforces its position in the personal item tracking space. The combination of a larger detection range, louder audio alerts, and integration with Apple’s global device network makes the new AirTag a practical upgrade for both existing users and first-time buyers.
Apple said the latest version reflects its continued focus on innovation, usability, and improving everyday digital experiences for its customers.
