Stalwart Bhajan singer Anup Jalota has voiced deep concern over the recent firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, stating that actor Salman Khan should issue an apology to the Bishnoi community to prevent further hostility.

The remarks come in the wake of an attack where unidentified assailants opened fire at Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area. Shroff escaped unharmed, but his driver and a bystander sustained injuries. Investigations are underway, with social media posts claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang taking responsibility and demanding an apology from Salman Khan.

Call for Reconciliation

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Anup Jalota emphasized that a sincere apology from Salman Khan to the Bishnoi community, who were deeply affected by the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, is the sole path to de-escalate the ongoing animosity.

"I am very saddened by this. There is only one way to stop all this. Salman Khan should apologize to the Bishnoi community."

Jalota reiterated his earlier stance, stressing the critical need to address the profound hurt felt by the community. He warned that failing to do so would perpetuate a cycle of suffering, impacting not only the Bishnois but also those associated with Salman Khan.

"I have said this before. It is very important that the Bishnoi community, which has been hurt, should be apologized to otherwise, the Bishnoi community will continue to be hurt. Those who work with Salman Khan will be hurt, their families will also be hurt."

The singer urged Salman Khan to make a decisive move towards resolving the long-standing conflict.

"So, why not make a firm decision to apologize to the Bishnoi community to end this all? This is what I want."

Background of Tensions

The current surge in tensions is directly linked to the firing incident targeting Tiger Shroff. Following the attack, messages attributed to individuals claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang surfaced, demanding an apology from Salman Khan to the Bishnoi community and issuing threats to the actor's associates.

In the background, the enmity between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi traces back to the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community holds the blackbuck in high religious regard, and the case has remained a persistent source of resentment.

Salman Khan has been a target of threats for years, with a previous firing incident reported outside his Bandra residence in April 2024.
