Development Authority Irregularities Reviewed

The Ankush Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council convened a high-level meeting on Wednesday at the Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow. The committee conducted an in-depth review of serious irregularities prevalent in various development authorities, housing development boards, district panchayats, and municipal corporations.

Directives Issued for Prompt Justice

Presiding over the meeting, committee chairman Jitendra Singh Sengar reviewed pending cases from the concerned departments point-wise. He issued strict instructions to officials that there should be no unnecessary delays at any level in the process of delivering justice to victims.

Focus on Curbing Corruption and Ensuring Public Grievance Redressal

The primary agenda of the meeting was to curb corruption and malpractices within government development agencies and to ensure the swift and effective redressal of public grievances. Chairman Sengar specifically held detailed discussions on matters related to the Urban Development Department, Housing and Urban Planning Department, and Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department. He directed concrete and time-bound action to resolve the problems within the purview of these departments.

Ensuring Transparency and Accountability

Chairman Jitendra Singh Sengar instructed the officials present to ensure transparency and accountability in the redressal of complaints. He emphasized that it is paramount for common citizens to receive justice when they approach these government bodies for solutions to their problems. He stated that any negligence or laxity will not be tolerated.

Continuous Monitoring for Administrative Transparency

The chairman further added that the committee will continuously monitor the progress of these cases in the future to promote administrative transparency and ensure timely justice for the general public. The committee plans to assess the status of ground-level reforms by summoning compliance reports on the directives issued.

Key members of the committee present at this significant meeting included Ashwini Tyagi, Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu Bhaiya, CP Chand, Brajesh Singh Printshu, Santosh Singh, Dr. Ratan Pal Singh, and Angad Singh. On the administrative front, senior officials including the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department, P. Guruprasad, along with Anuj Jha, Vijay Kiran Anand, Manoj Kumar Singh, Satya Prakash Patel, and Mahendra Pratap Singh, also participated in the meeting.
