Details of the Raids

The raids, directed by State GST Secretary Mukesh Bansal, involved enforcement teams from Raipur and covered 11 locations connected to Mahavir Coal Washery, Feel Coal, and Paras Coal & Beneficiation. Offices, residential premises, industrial plants, and washeries were all inspected.

During the operation:

• The family surrendered around Rs. 10 crore on the first day.

• An additional Rs. 11 crore was deposited the next day.

• Another washery surrendered Rs. 6.5 crore.

The total tax recovery amounted to Rs. 27.5 crore. Preliminary GST findings suggest possible manipulation in tax input, prompting the extensive searches.
