Anganwadi Workers and Helpers See Hike in Honorarium and Insurance Coverage Announced

Significant Boost for Anganwadi Personnel

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a significant welfare package for the state's Anganwadi workers and helpers. During a state-level event in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, he declared an increase in the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000, and for helpers from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000.

Furthermore, these frontline workers will now receive a ₹5 lakh health insurance cover and a ₹5 lakh cashless medical facility. This announcement reflects the government's sensitivity towards the crucial role these individuals play in the effective implementation of maternal and child nutrition, health, and women and child welfare schemes at the grassroots level.

This initiative will provide economic and social security to thousands of Anganwadi workers and helpers across the state, enabling them to perform their duties with greater dedication. The increased honorarium is expected to benefit a total of 4366 workers in the Balrampur district, comprising 2183 Anganwadi workers and 2183 Anganwadi helpers.

Local Event Marks Announcement

In Balrampur district, a program was organized at the Collectorate where a large number of Anganwadi workers and helpers, along with public representatives and officials, listened to the Chief Minister's address via live broadcast. Among those present were MLA Balrampur Sadar Paltu Ram, District Panchayat President Ms. Aarti Tiwari, District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain, and Chairman of Adarsh Nagar Palika Parishad Balrampur Dr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh 'Dhiru'.

The announcement of health insurance and cashless medical facilities, alongside the honorarium hike, provides a strong health security shield for these grassroots workers. This move will help alleviate health-related financial concerns for them and their families, especially considering the rising medical costs.

Nutrition and Anganwadi Centers Highlighted

During the event, 'Poshan Potli' (Nutrition Bundles) were also distributed to women and children transitioning from malnutrition to good nutrition under the Poshan Abhiyan (Nutrition Campaign). This initiative underscores the government's commitment to healthy child development, better nutrition for pregnant and lactating mothers, and malnutrition prevention.

Anganwadi centers are considered a vital link in the implementation of these schemes, and empowering the workers at these centers will enhance the effectiveness of these programs. MLA Balrampur Sadar, Paltu Ram, stated that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership, the state government is continuously working towards the welfare and empowerment of all sections of society.
