Initially, buzz suggested Kiara Advani was the top contender for the role of Shakti Shalini. However, rumors circulated in recent weeks that Aneet Padda had stepped into the part. Speaking exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, filmmaker Amar Kaushik, co-creator of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, explained the casting decision:

“When we were writing the script, we realized that we needed a younger actor. Meanwhile, we saw her film Saiyaara and realized that she suits the part perfectly. She heard the story and came on board.”

Kaushik, who directed Stree and Stree 2 (2024), confirmed that shooting for Shakti Shalini is scheduled to begin in January 2026.
