Brutal Murder in Amla

In a shocking incident in the Amla police station area of Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh, a 28-year-old youth named Shyam Singh was brutally murdered by having his throat slit with a sharp weapon on Friday night. His bloodied body was discovered in a field in Kandharpur village on Saturday morning, sending shockwaves through the area.

Acting on a complaint filed by the deceased's brother, the police have registered a murder case against four individuals, citing an old enmity as the motive. All the accused are currently reported to be on the run.

Grim Details Emerge from Autopsy

The horrifying extent of the violence was revealed in the post-mortem report. According to the report, approximately 60 percent of Shyam Singh's neck was severed with a sharp weapon. Severe ligature marks from a rope were also found on his neck, and his trachea was found to be damaged.

Additionally, deep wounds were discovered on his head, hands, and feet. Experts speculate that the attackers first subdued the youth with a rope before slitting his throat with the sharp object.

Old Rivalry and Potential Motives

The victim, Shyam Singh's brother, Munnallal, alleged in his complaint to the police that the murder stemmed from an old enmity. He stated that animosity had existed between the two families for years, dating back to a complaint filed by their father years ago regarding a kerosene business run by Mohar Singh.

Furthermore, about a month prior, Shyam had also been involved in a dispute with some other villagers over an unspecified issue. The police are also investigating the angle of whether complaints made against Gajram, a former village quota dealer, concerning ration distribution, played a role in this incident.

Police Action and Manhunt

Hemant Upadhyay, the Circle Officer (CO) of Amla, stated that a case has been registered against Gajram, Mohar Singh, Ruma Singh, and Bhupram under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, based on Munnallal's complaint. All four accused have been absconding since the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South, Anshika Verma, clarified that special police teams have been formed to apprehend the accused, and raids and searches are being conducted at their suspected locations. The police are meticulously investigating all past disputes and potential motives related to the case to ensure a complete disclosure of all aspects of the incident.

A heavy atmosphere of tension prevails in the village following this heinous murder.
