Allu Arjun–Atlee Film in Talks with Netflix for Record ₹600-Crore Digital Deal: Report

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s much-anticipated collaboration with director Atlee is shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian films ever made, with fresh reports suggesting that Netflix is in advanced negotiations to acquire the movie’s digital streaming rights for a staggering ₹600 crore.

If finalised, the deal would be the highest-ever digital acquisition for an Indian film, covering streaming rights across all languages.

Massive Scale, Mumbai-Centric Shoot

The yet-untitled project is currently being filmed extensively in Mumbai, with Allu Arjun shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad to accommodate the demanding schedule. Sources indicate that the production is moving at a brisk pace, with large-scale sets and action sequences forming a major part of the shoot.

Both Allu Arjun and Atlee are said to be drawing record-breaking remuneration for the project, contributing to the film’s massive overall cost. Industry insiders estimate that the total budget will approach ₹1,000 crore, placing it among the most expensive Indian films ever produced.

Netflix Deal Could Rewrite Digital Benchmarks

According to industry sources, Netflix has agreed in principle to pay around ₹600 crore for the digital rights, a figure that reflects the platform’s aggressive push for large-scale Indian tentpole content with global appeal. The deal reportedly includes streaming rights for all dubbed and original language versions, underlining Netflix’s confidence in the film’s pan-Indian and international reach.

While neither Netflix nor the film’s producers have officially confirmed the agreement, talks are said to be at an advanced stage.

Star-Studded Cast and Global Tech Talent

The film boasts an ensemble of leading actresses, including Deepika Padukone, Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna and Janhvi Kapoor, making it one of the most star-heavy line-ups in recent years. The presence of multiple female leads suggests a multi-layered narrative rather than a conventional single-hero structure.

Adding to the scale, several top Hollywood technicians are reportedly involved in the visual effects work, indicating a strong emphasis on world-class VFX and spectacle — a signature element in Atlee’s recent films.

Sun Pictures Backs the Big Bet

The project is being produced by Sun Pictures, which is reportedly sparing no expense to position the film as a global cinematic event. With high-end technology, a massive cast, and international post-production support, the film is being designed to compete with the biggest releases worldwide.

Release Timeline

The shoot is expected to be completed by the second half of 2026, with post-production — particularly VFX — likely to take several months. The makers are currently targeting a theatrical release in summer 2027.

As anticipation builds, official announcements regarding the title, storyline and digital deal are awaited. If the reported Netflix agreement goes through, the Allu Arjun–Atlee film could redefine the commercial ceiling for Indian cinema in the streaming era.
