Protest Against UGC Policies in Bhopal
The Akhand Brahmin Seva Samiti organized a significant demonstration in Bhopal today, September 26, 2026, to protest the new policies implemented by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Led by Pandit K. K. Dwivedi, hundreds of members and officials demanded the immediate withdrawal of these policies, stating they are against public and student interests.
Disciplined March and Sloganeering
Members and activists of the committee undertook a disciplined procession from Platinum Plaza to Roshanpura Square. The march saw the participation of national president Pandit Mona Thapak, state president Pandit Rashmi Mishra, state organization minister Pandit Sumitra Shukla, state secretary Pandit Sonu Pandey, youth wing president Pandit Siddharth Awasthi, along with prominent office bearers such as Pandit Yuvraj Mishra, Pandit J. P. Mishra, Pandit K. K. Mishra, Pandit Deepak Dwivedi, Pandit Bharti Sharma, and Pandit Suhani Dixit. Protesters held placards and chanted slogans against the UGC's policies.
Memorandum Submitted to Governor
At the conclusion of the march, a delegation from the organization submitted a memorandum to the Honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh. The memorandum explicitly urged the government to seriously reconsider the controversial UGC policies and made a strong appeal for their prompt withdrawal.
Warning of Nationwide Movement
If the University Grants Commission does not withdraw these policies, the Akhand Brahmin Seva Samiti will be compelled to adopt a more aggressive stance in the future. The organization will not hesitate to initiate a nationwide movement to press its demands.
Speaking on the occasion, National President Pandit Mona Thapak and State General Secretary Pandit K. K. Dwivedi issued a joint statement conveying this warning. The protest remained entirely peaceful, yet the participating members clearly demonstrated a resolute stance on their demands. The committee is now awaiting further action based on the memorandums submitted to the administration and relevant government departments.
