Air India Cancels UAE Flights

Air India cancelled multiple flights to Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026.

The cancellations stem from operational restrictions imposed by UAE airport authorities due to the ongoing crisis in West Asia.

 

"In view of the latest instructions from Airport authorities in the UAE, Air India and Air India Express are compelled to curtail their ad‑hoc operations for 15 March 2026,"

the airline stated on X.

 

Expanded Cancellations and Options for Passengers

Air India later expanded the cancellations to include flights to Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.

All Air India Express flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah were cancelled for the day.

Affected passengers have the option to rebook their flights for a future date without additional charges or receive a full refund.

Limited Air India Operations

Air India operated only one Delhi–Dubai return flight on the affected day.

Four of the five originally planned Dubai flights were cancelled.

Air India Express operated a single Delhi–Dubai return flight, cancelling five out of six scheduled Dubai flights. All five Air India Express flights to Abu Dhabi were cancelled.

IndiGo Reschedules Flights to Dubai

IndiGo also announced that flight operations in Dubai faced further restrictions.

 

"Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, flight operations have been further restricted in Dubai, leading to changes in flight schedules,"

IndiGo stated on X.

 

Passengers travelling to or from Dubai are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

The West Asia crisis is causing wider disruptions in the aviation sector, including rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices.

Airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa Air have recently introduced fuel surcharges on domestic and international routes.
