The 'Active Friends Group, Bhopal', a symbol of friendship and affection, convened a historic event on Friday, August 15, 2026, at Hotel Shubh Inn, MLA Rest House, to constitute its new executive committee. The occasion bid a heartfelt farewell to the outgoing executive body and heralded a new era for the organization with the appointment of Dr. Rajiv Jain as President and Pramod Sharma as General Secretary.
Established in 2012 by a group of friends, the organization now unites approximately 600 alumni from various universities and colleges in Bhopal on a single platform. This includes former student leaders and distinguished citizens of society. The group organizes year-round events as per its annual calendar, encompassing social, religious, sports, cultural, patriotic, environmental, public awareness, health camps, and friendship-related activities.
These events serve as a platform for members to reminisce about old times and strengthen their mutual bonds. This tradition not only provides emotional connection for members but also nurtures a sense of collective consciousness and social responsibility.
Farewell to Outgoing Team, Appreciation for Excellence
During the appreciation ceremony, the tenure of the outgoing executive committee was specially lauded. The contributions of the entire team, including Patron and Founder Member former minister Deepak Joshi, Convener Mohammad Tariq, President Payoj Joshi, General Secretary Rajkumar Srivastava, Treasurer Nitin Lohani, and Women President Aradhana Sanjar, were remembered.
Speakers stated that this team had propelled the 'Active Friends Group' to new heights during its tenure and successfully managed the organization's activities. They particularly praised the leadership and guidance of Deepak Joshi, who strengthened the organization's foundation and propelled it forward. The presidential term of Payoj Joshi and the work of Rajkumar Srivastava as General Secretary, who made numerous events successful, were also discussed in detail.
Various programs organized by the outgoing team, such as health camps, aided the needy, while environmental awareness campaigns attempted to bring positive change in society. Formation of New Executive Committee and Future Direction
With the announcement of the new executive committee, the future roadmap of the organization also became clear. In the newly constituted executive, Mohammad Tariq will serve as Convener, Dr. Rajiv Jain as President, and Pramod Sharma as General Secretary.
Tribhuvan Mishra, Ramu Shrivas, Brajesh Shukla, Raju Upadhyay, Anita Arya, and Purva Rai will assume charge as Vice Presidents. For the position of Secretary, Maan Singh, Anil Srivastava, Neelima Tiwari, and Rachna David have been appointed. Rajkumar Srivastava has been made Organization Minister and Nitin Daga will be the Treasurer.
Mrs. Shashi Soni will be the President of the Women's Cell, while Ankit Sharma will head the Youth Cell, with Suryakant Chaturvedi as its General Secretary. A patron board and other executive members have also been constituted.
This new team includes members from diverse backgrounds and experiences, who will play a significant role in providing new direction to the organization and expanding its activities. The large number of Vice Presidents and Secretaries indicates an effort to actively involve more and more members in the organization.

In his first address after assuming the presidency, Dr. Rajiv Jain underscored the importance of friendship.
