Government Schools and Gram Panchayat Under Scrutiny
In a significant move against administrative laxity, Acting Collector Veer Singh Chauhan and the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat took decisive action on Thursday. Surprise inspections of government schools and the Gram Panchayat Narsinghgarh revealed serious negligence, leading to stern directives for disciplinary measures against numerous officials and teachers.
Alarming Student Attendance and Mid-Day Meal Irregularities
At the government school in Murlipura, officials expressed deep concern over the abysmal student attendance, with only 76 out of 296 registered students present. This starkly reflects the poor state of the education system. Consequently, teachers' salaries have been withheld until significant improvements are observed. The situation at the government middle school in Inguri Khot was equally dire, with only 10 out of 84 children in attendance.
Serious Flaws in Mid-Day Meal Scheme and Panchayat Operations
Beyond academic institutions, the mid-day meal scheme also showed glaring irregularities. The Jai Lodi Mata Self-Help Group was removed from its duties for failing to adhere to the prescribed menu. Additionally, the school head has been issued a notice for incorrectly recording attendance. Clarifications have also been sought from the Block Education Officer (BRC), Block Education Officer (BEO), and Cluster Educational Coordinator (CAC), underscoring a move towards systemic accountability.
Gram Panchayat Narsinghgarh Secretary Suspended
The inspection of Gram Panchayat Narsinghgarh proved particularly troubling. Panchayat Secretary Lalluram Gurjar was found absent, and no records could be produced. With zero progress reported on government schemes, the secretary was suspended with immediate effect. Strict instructions were also issued to Public Health Engineering (PHE) department officials regarding deficiencies found in the quality of the नल-जल (tap water) scheme.
Zero Tolerance for Negligence; Surprise Inspections to Continue
Acting Collector Veer Singh Chauhan emphatically stated that any dereliction of duty or negligence in public welfare works will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He assured that such surprise inspections would continue to ensure government schemes reach the last beneficiary and uphold transparency and accountability in the system. This crackdown is viewed as a crucial step towards administrative reform and accountability in the local governance.
