Collector Issues Strict Directives on Public Welfare Schemes

During an important review meeting in Narmadapuram, Collector Somesh Mishra expressed serious concern over the negligence of various government departments in the implementation of public welfare schemes. He issued clear directives that any level of laxity in government work will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against officials found to be remiss in the effective implementation of schemes.

Crop Insurance Scheme Under Scrutiny

Reviewing the Crop Insurance Scheme, the Collector instructed the Deputy Director of Agriculture that any delay or irregularity in the payment of insurance amounts to eligible farmers will not be tolerated. He ordered insurance company representatives to hold a press conference to inform farmers about the scheme, which will also be attended by the SDM and other concerned officials. Penal action will be taken against the insurance company if any eligible farmer does not receive their insurance amount.

Emphasis on Farmer Benefits and Loan Recovery

The Collector directed the prompt payment of insurance amounts to eligible farmers under the Crop Insurance Scheme, aiming to benefit them immediately. He also stated that more and more farmers should be connected with cooperative societies, and the recovery of overdue loans should be expedited. Regarding the laxity found in the Farmer Registry work, the Collector instructed the Additional Collector to issue notices to all Tehsildars.

Furthermore, Patwaris have been ordered to be active in the field on designated dates weekly and to prioritize and complete revenue-related tasks. During the review of the Chief Minister's Helpline, the Collector directed the preparation of proposals for action against officials of poorly performing departments. He expressed displeasure over complaints received under the National Health Mission and instructed officials to improve the resolution of these grievances.

The Public Health Engineering Department has been ordered to promptly complete pending tap water supply schemes and to physically verify projects that have already been completed. DFO Gaurav Sharma, CEO District Panchayat Himanshu Jain, Additional Collector Rajesh Shukla, and other senior departmental officials were present at the meeting. In conclusion, the Collector urged all officials to ensure the time-bound implementation of schemes through mutual coordination.
