The win in a must-win encounter ensured the Knight Riders finished inside the top four and set up an Eliminator clash against Dubai Capitals on January 1. Meanwhile, Desert Vipers will face MI Emirates in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, with a direct berth in the final at stake.

Pepper–Salt Partnership Powers Knight Riders

Batting first, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders delivered a commanding performance, led by a dominant 131-run opening partnership between Michael Pepper and Phil Salt. Pepper played the aggressor’s role, scoring 83 off 51 balls, while Salt anchored the innings with an unbeaten 72 off 56 deliveries.

The duo laid a strong foundation during the powerplay, racing to 56 runs and putting immediate pressure on the Gulf Giants’ bowling attack. Pepper reached his half-century in just 31 balls, displaying clean hitting and sharp placement, while Salt provided stability at the other end. Their partnership propelled the Knight Riders to a formidable total of 179 for 1, giving their bowlers a strong platform to defend.

Holder Strikes Early as Giants Falter
