Absconding Theft Warrant Accused Arrested After Five Years in Damoh, Sent to Sub-Jail

As part of a special campaign against absconding permanent warrant holders in Sagar district, Gorjhamar police have successfully arrested an accused who had been on the run for five years in a theft case. The accused has been sent to sub-jail Rahli as per the court's order.
Campaign Against Absconders
This action was carried out under the direction of Sagar Superintendent of Police, Mr. Anurag Sujania, with the objective of tightening the grip on active absconders and permanent warrant holders in the district. In this sequence, under the guidance of SDOPI Deori, Mr. Arun Uike, Gorjhamar police received information from an informant on August 24, 2026.
Swift Action and Arrest
The informant reported that Deepak S/o Bhavani Raikwar, aged 30, a resident of Ward No. 04, Damoh, who had been absconding for approximately five years in a theft case, was spotted in the Damoh bus stand area. Acting immediately on the information, a team from Gorjhamar police station swiftly departed for Damoh. Upon reaching Damoh, the police team cordoned off the area and commenced the search for the accused. Based on the description provided by the informant, the police focused their attention and exercised caution to confirm the accused's identity.
Incarceration Ordered by Court
Shortly thereafter, the police team successfully apprehended the permanent warrant holder, Deepak S/o Bhavani Raikwar, near Kirti Stambh. This arrest is a testament to the campaign's promptness and effective surveillance, leaving the accused no opportunity to escape. The arrested permanent warrant holder was presented before the Honorable Court of Deori. Considering the seriousness of the case and after the hearing, the court ordered the accused to be lodged in sub-jail Rahli. In compliance with this order, the accused was sent to sub-jail Rahli as per rules, where he will complete his sentence or face further legal proceedings.
