The Danger of Central Obesity
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, highlighted the dangers of abdominal obesity at the release of Dr. H.K. Chopra's cardiology textbook, "Advances in Obesity and Lipid Management in CVD."

"There is sufficient evidence to show that Central obesity, even in apparently non-obese individuals, predisposes to a wide spectrum of metabolic disorders including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, fatty liver, dyslipidemia, etc.,"

Abdominal obesity involves excessive visceral fat accumulation around the stomach and internal organs, such as the liver, heart, kidneys, and intestines.
