He emphasized his commitment, saying,

"Punjab isn’t a talking point for me. It is my home, my duty, my soil, my soul."

Punjab AAP's Grievances

Punjab AAP functionaries, including Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and state party president Aman Arora, have accused Chadha of betraying the state. They allege he has remained silent on critical issues.

These issues include Rs 8,500 crore under the rural development fund (RDF), Rs 60,000 crore in GST losses, and Rs 1,600 crore in flood relief. They claim these issues were not addressed despite repeated attempts to communicate with Chadha.

Accusations of Disconnect

The AAP functionaries described Chadha's silence as a "betrayal" of Punjab's people and mandate. They further claim his failure to raise farmer's concerns and address the plight of flood victims reflects a "complete disconnect from ground realities."

They allege that Chadha has not adequately addressed the following:

  • The state's pending funds with the Centre.
  • Farmers' concerns.
  • The plight of flood victims.

Chadha's Defense

Amidst the accusations, Chadha alludes to a "coordinated campaign" to silence him. He uses strong language to defend his position, stating,

"Ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon (I am wounded, therefore I am lethal)."

What to Watch Next

The coming days will likely reveal further escalation or attempts at reconciliation within the AAP. It remains to be seen whether Chadha will directly address the specific financial concerns raised by the Punjab functionaries and how this feud will affect AAP's image in Punjab.
