9th Classical Music Festival 'Parampara' Concludes in Vindhyachal

Classical Music Festival 'Parampara' Celebrates Indian Arts in Vindhyachal

The sacred Vindhyachal Dham in Mirzapur was the venue for the 9th 'Parampara' Classical Music Festival, a mesmerizing confluence of Indian classical art, melody, rhythm, and emotion. Organized by the 'Maheshwar Sadhana Lalit Kala Prashikshan Kendra', the event was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Vindhya Ratna Pandit Maheshwarpati Tripathi.

The prestigious ceremony commenced with the lighting of a lamp and prayers at the feet of Goddess Vindhyavasini within the temple complex, accompanied by Vedic chants. During the event, senior journalist and spiritual writer Shri Salil Pandey was bestowed with the 'Parampara Samman' for his unparalleled contributions to Indian Sanatan culture, literature, and journalism.

Shri Manoj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of the Commercial Tax Department (CGST), graced the occasion as a distinguished guest. He lauded the festival, describing it as a pride of Indian culture. Shri Pandey was felicitated by the dignitaries and organizers with an angavastra (shawl), a memento, and a certificate of appreciation.

A Grand Confluence of Classical Arts

Artists from various cultural centers across the country presented their exceptional performances, captivating the audience. Renowned singer from Kashi, Sushri Alankrita Roy, filled the atmosphere with devotion through her melodious and profound classical renditions. A melodious jugalbandi of sitar and flute performances enchanted the listeners, with Dr. Sangeeta Singh and Sushri Shreya Mishra on the sitar, and Shri Sudhir Gautam on the flute.

Pandit Poorn Maharaj, son of the eminent Banaras Gharana scholar and Padma Vibhushan Tabla maestro Pandit Kishan Maharaj, and his daughter Sushri Avantika Maharaj, who also serves as the festival's patron, presented a captivating jugalbandi of tabla and pakhawaj rhythms, including complex tihais and parans that resonated through the entire venue.

Exquisite Dance Performances and Accompaniments

In the dance segment, Kum. Varanya Sinha showcased an excellent display of emotions and footwork in her solo Kathak performance, while Shri Ravishankar Mishra and Dr. Mamta Tandon presented a captivating duet Kathak performance. From Kolkata, Shri Adrija Kundru graced the stage with an Odissi dance, exuding divine grace.

The accompanying artists who played a significant role included Pandit Gaurav Mishra, Dr. Rajneesh Tiwari, Shri Dev Narayan, and Shri Mohit Sahni. The entire event was eloquently and poetically compered by Shri Saurabh Chakraborty. The festival was concluded by the institution's administrator, Shri Dineshwarpati Tripathi.

The president, Shri Om Prakash Mishra, and secretary, Shri Vindhyavasini Prasad Keswani, expressed their gratitude to all the esteemed guests, accomplished artists, and art-loving audience members. Many dignitaries were present, including Vineet Jaiswal, Satyam Pandey, Abhinavpati Tripathi, Vijay Babu Mishra, Pankaj Dwivedi (President, Vindhya Panda Samaj), Ashok Singh Advocate, Arun Mishra, Ashu Pathak, Kartikeya Pandey, Manish Sharma, and Omshankar Giri.

The organization reaffirmed its commitment to organizing this grand event annually to preserve and promote Indian art and culture.
