37 Liters of Illicit Liquor Seized from ABVP Nagar Minister's Home in Vidisha
Police in Vidisha seized 37 liters of illegal liquor from a house linked to an ABVP Nagar Minister. One person has been arrested.

Police Active Ahead of Independence Day
The police administration in Vidisha district is actively working to maintain law and order and curb the illegal liquor trade in anticipation of Independence Day. In line with this, the Kurwai police station conducted a raid on a house in Ward No. 8, seizing approximately 37 liters of illicit local and foreign liquor.
Arrest and Allegations
During the operation, police arrested a man named Jay Manjhi. He is reportedly associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Kurwai Nagar Minister. Acting on information from an informant, the police cordoned off and searched the house located behind the police colony.
Seizure Details
During the search, police discovered a cache of local and foreign liquor valued at approximately 30,000 rupees. The seized liquor included 26 packets of local spiced liquor and 46 plain packets. Additionally, 18 bottles and 24 half-bottles of Officer's Choice were confiscated. The total volume of confiscated liquor is reported to be around 37 liters.
Under Surveillance Suspect Arrested
Following the liquor seizure, police arrested Jay Manjhi from the scene. According to police records, Jay Manjhi is a known troublemaker who has previously been externed from the district. The police have registered a case against Jay Manjhi under the Excise Act and other relevant legal sections and have initiated further investigation.
Liquor Recovered from ABVP Nagar Minister's Residence
The house where the police action took place is reported to be the residence of the ABVP Kurwai Nagar Minister, Satyajay Manjhi. The recovery of such a large quantity of illicit liquor from the property has ignited political discussions at the local level. However, the police stated that Satyajay Manjhi's personal involvement or role in the liquor seizure will only be confirmed after the investigation is complete.

Across the district, police are conducting a rigorous campaign against suspicious activities and illegal businesses in the lead-up to Independence Day. The Kurwai police's action has sent shockwaves among others involved in the illicit liquor trade. Police officials have clarified that the crackdown against such illegal activities will continue with the same intensity in the future.
