Traffic Police Enforce Road Safety in Damoh

In line with directives from the Police Headquarters Bhopal and under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri Anand Kaladagi (IPS) and Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Sujeet Singh Bhadauria, the Damoh district traffic police launched a special vehicle checking campaign. The operation aimed to ensure road safety and smooth traffic flow within the district.

Enforcement Against Traffic Violators

During this intensive campaign on August 5, 2026, Station House Officer (Traffic) Shri Dalbir Singh Marko and traffic staff meticulously inspected vehicles on key routes across the city. The primary objective was to raise awareness about traffic rules and enforce strict compliance.

Penalties for Various Infractions

The special drive resulted in penal action against 36 drivers for contravening various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. Specific violations included:

  • 9 vehicles were fined ₹4,500 for non-standard number plates.
  • 9 drivers were fined ₹2,700 for not wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers.
  • 8 vehicles incurred fines totaling ₹4,000 for illegal black film application.
  • 1 vehicle was fined ₹3,000 for the unauthorized use of a siren.

In total, ₹27,200 in compounding fees were collected during this special campaign. The traffic police have stated that such drives will continue in the future to encourage adherence to traffic regulations and bolster road safety for the general public.
