Extensive Preparations for Chief Minister's Farrukhabad Visit

Farrukhabad, September 3, 2026 – In preparation for the Chief Minister's visit to Farrukhabad to distribute relief funds and materials to flood-affected families, the health department, alongside the district administration, implemented comprehensive measures to ensure a safe and smooth program. Under the direction of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Anand Upadhyay, a robust, multi-layered system was established to manage any unforeseen health emergencies and safeguard public health.

This initiative saw the deployment of 17 ambulances to critical locations, each staffed with expert doctors and paramedical teams. The health department meticulously assigned specific responsibilities to various officials to oversee the medical arrangements throughout the event.

Key Officials Assigned Medical Responsibilities

Dr. R.C. Mathur, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, was tasked with overseeing medical arrangements at the police line helipad. His counterpart, Dr. Deepak Kataria, was responsible for ensuring the availability of specialist medical teams, ambulances, Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO), and 108 ambulances at the program venue, helipad, safe house, and platform.

Further delineating duties, Dr. Parikshit Safeer, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, was assigned the responsibility of inspecting the safety of food and beverages at the program site. Concurrently, Dr. Sarwar Iqbal Siddiqui, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, was designated to ensure medical facilities were in place at the temporary safe house established at the venue.

Dr. Sarvesh Yadav, Additional Chief Medical Officer, was appointed as the nodal officer for coordinating and monitoring all health-related arrangements, ensuring seamless operation and swift response.

Deployment of 17 Ambulances and Specialist Medical Teams

In anticipation of the Chief Minister's program, 17 ambulances were strategically positioned at identified locations, equipped with necessary medical equipment and trained personnel, as per the directives of CMO Dr. Anand Upadhyay. These ambulances were kept on high alert at key points such as the police line, helipad, program venue, and safe house to provide immediate medical assistance in case of any untoward incident.

To bolster the emergency health response capabilities, additional ambulances were requisitioned from neighboring districts including Kanpur Dehat, Etawah, Kannauj, Auraiya, Shahjahanpur, and Etah, supplementing the local resources and significantly strengthening the district's emergency medical capacity.

Comprehensive Availability of Specialist Doctors and Paramedical Staff

The deployment plan ensured specialized medical services were available at various sites. This included a cadre of expert doctors such as 2 Anesthetists, 3 Physicians, 3 Surgeons, 1 Pathologist, 3 Physiotherapists, 1 Cardiologist, and 1 General Surgeon.

In addition to the physicians, essential paramedical and ambulance staff were also deployed, including 5 Pharmacists, 2 Lab Technicians, 5 Ward Boys, 1 EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and 1 Medical Officer. These teams were strategically stationed at designated locations like the police line, helipad, program venue, safe house, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Male Hospital, with strict instructions to remain fully alert and provide immediate medical support when required.

Medical Assistance at Safe House and Gathering Venue

During the program, a dedicated medical team was stationed at the safe house set up at the police line. Here, prompt medical assistance was provided to Constable Isha from Kamalganj, who reported symptoms of fever and weakness. The deployed team conducted an examination and administered the necessary medication.

Prioritizing the health of attendees at the main gathering venue, 23 ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives) were deployed with health kits to assess and provide first aid for any health-related issues. Furthermore, two National Mobile Medical Unit (NMMU) ambulances were available at the venue, through which 155 individuals received necessary medications.

Considering the heat and the large turnout, the health department distributed 1200 ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) packets to provide immediate relief to attendees.

CMO Dr. Anand Upadhyay instructed all deployed medical personnel to provide immediate medical assistance to anyone experiencing health problems during the program and to ensure timely referral to higher medical institutions if necessary.

The extensive preparations orchestrated under the CMO's guidance encompassed 17 ambulances, additional ambulances from six other districts, 2 NMMU ambulances, specialist doctors, paramedical staff, a team of 23 ANMs, distribution of medicines, and ORS packets. The health department teams demonstrated remarkable promptness and dedication in ensuring the safe and successful execution of this significant event.
