Successful Repatriation from Yemen

Twelve Indian sailors aboard the vessel 'MSV Faez Noor Olia' have been successfully rescued from war-torn Yemen through the concerted diplomatic efforts of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Indian embassies in the Gulf region. The sailors have departed from Yemen's Aden International Airport for India, marking a significant relief.

The Indian Embassy in Riyadh, which has been overseeing operations for the Indian mission in Yemen, shared the news on 'X' (formerly Twitter). They confirmed that the process of bringing the 12 crew members back to India was completed in collaboration with Yemeni authorities.

The embassy expressed gratitude to the Yemeni officials for their cooperation and wished the sailors a safe journey. The operation underscored India's 'Sankatmochak' (crisis reliever) diplomacy, ready to assist Indian citizens in distress anywhere in the world.

Immediate Response to Ship Attack

According to media reports, the commercial vessel, flying the Indian flag, was recently attacked near the coast of Yemen. Upon receiving this information, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi and the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, were immediately activated.

The safety of all Indian nationals on board the ship became the government's highest priority. The embassy in Riyadh closely monitored the entire situation, ensuring the safety and swift repatriation of the crew members.

Complex Rescue Operation and Diplomatic Coordination

Despite the severe security challenges in Yemen, Indian Embassy officials worked tirelessly, establishing high-level diplomatic coordination with the Yemeni administration. This intricate collaboration was key to the success of the rescue operation.

All crew members were safely evacuated from the attacked vessel. Furthermore, their accommodation, provisions, and travel documentation procedures in Aden were expedited. Upon their return, the sailors expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian government and embassy officials.
